As Christians, we are called to seek the presence of God in all things. In Psalm 16:11, David writes, “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
When we are in the presence of God, we experience a fullness of joy and pleasure that cannot be found anywhere else. But what does it mean to be in His presence?
Being in the presence of God means being in a state of constant awareness and attentiveness to His presence. It means actively seeking Him out and making time for Him in our daily lives. It means listening to His voice and following His guidance.
One way to enter into the presence of God is through prayer and meditation. When we pray, we open ourselves up to hearing from God and seeking His will for our lives. Meditation allows us to quiet our minds and focus on God, helping us to connect with Him on a deeper level.
Another way to be in the presence of God is through worship and fellowship with other believers. As we sing praises to God and hear His Word preached, we are reminded of His goodness and grace. Fellowship with other believers also helps us to grow in our relationship with God and encourages us to seek Him more fully.
Ultimately, being in the presence of God means living in obedience to His Word and following His commands. It means surrendering our lives to Him and trusting in His plan for us.
So let us seek the presence of God in all things, knowing that in His presence, there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore. May we draw near to Him and find rest in His loving arms in Jesus’ name. Amen.
